Rose Briar enjoys an enviable position in the Cotswolds. We are surrounded with beautiful coutryside, charming Cotswold villages and interesting historic towns.
We have some beautiful walks on our doorstep, through old streets full of Cotswold stone buildings and into peaceful woodlands or along the old canal.
There are a number of wonderful local pubs serving local produce and real ales.
Stroud and Cirencester are just a bus ride away (bus stop just 50 yards from Rose Briar). Cirencester is known for its Roman heritage and its unique mix of independent shops. Stroud is noted for its independent spirit and cafe culture; British designer Jasper Conran once likened Stroud to 'the Covent Garden of the Cotswolds'.
and not forgetting the village of Bibury which was once described as 'the most beautiful village in the Cotswolds'
There are ample walks and places to visit.
The Canal Path has recently been re-generated, and is lovely.
Frith Woods are on our doorstep, lots of meandering paths and the Bluebells are lovely in the Spring.
If you are feeling like a swim, there is a swimming pool at both Stroud and Cirencester Leisure Centres.
There is a bus stop, approx 50 yds from Rose Briar, which takes you into Stroud, and another further down the lane for Cirencester.
Stroud has a Farmers Market on Saturday Mornings.
There are music festivals later on in the summer at Kings Head and Old Neighbourhood Pubs.
There is a lovely walk by the Daneway down at the bottom of the valley.
There are several Golf Courses, the nearest one being Minchinhampton.
They do Sailing, Windsurfing, Paddling, open water swimming, 2 day power boating course and Fishing There is a man made beach and is ideal for families. The Park is open Feb-Dec offering: the largest inland beach in the UK, boat hire, water zorbing, bouncy castles, crazy golf, a climbing wall, adventure playgrounds, open water swimming, cafes, wonderful lakeside walks, and many more. You can take your own food and bbq it there.
